Operation

Trumouse has no required power-up order for its components. Before switching on, check that the power and network cables of every component, such as the Compute Unit, the Reader Array floor platform and the Industrial Camera, are firmly connected; then switch on the power.

The system is designed for long-term continuous operation, and we do not recommend switching it off in normal use. If it is switched off, we recommend cutting power to the whole system at the wall socket or power strip.

Implanting each animal with a uniquely coded passive transponder tag is part of the system’s workflow: animals must be tagged before they enter the arena, after which the LF Reader Modules read their unique ID wirelessly for non-contact, error-free tracking of individuals. For tag compatibility requirements, recommended models, technical specifications and implantation guidance, see Passive Transponder Tags; for animal welfare and ethics requirements, see Animal Welfare and Ethics.

Data acquisition, live monitoring and result analysis all take place in the Console running on the Compute Unit. Its use is described in Console Overview to Page Reference and FAQ.
